Over the weekend, I came across the article on PCOS and breastfeeding that Dr. MVM gave me last year. Several people have asked me about the PCOS/insufficient milk supply connection, so I am happy to report that the article, "Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Connection to Insufficient Milk Supply?" is available online. This article seems to be
the piece on this topic, at least from what I have found.

I can't figure out how to say that the first-time mamas-to-be who have yet to have their babies don't know what they are talking about without sounding like a complete bitch
à la Superior Sensitive Minivan Mom, so instead I will say this: The baby in your head is always perfect.

The struggle was driving me crazy. I went through a box of Mother's Milk Tea every two days. I drank enough Ovaltine to float an armada. I even tried beer. I took Reglan. I got as much sleep as I could. It probably goes without saying that I never went far without a tall bottle of water. And I pumped, though it made me miserable. I was determined to get at least one thing right.

Weeks went by, and not once was I approached by anyone wanting to help me out with their opinions on which brand of onesies fit best or which travel system they preferred, even when I stood in the middle of the baby aisles with a forlorn look on my face. I chalk this up to my mean, uninviting looks (inherited from my mom, who always looked angry if she wasn't smiling), and the fact that I was so puffy with water weight for the majority of my pregnancy that it was probably hard to tell if I was really pregnant or just plain fat.
